Rat Non-Redundant cDNAs
Under "A Program for Rat Gene Discovery and Mapping" supported by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the National Eye Institute, M. Bento Soares, Val Sheffield, and Thomas Casavant have developed over 80 normalized and subtracted cDNA libraries (http://ratest.eng.uiowa.edu). The cDNA is derived from both adult and embryonic tissues from the Rattus norvegicus strain Sprague-Dawley. The cDNA libraries were constructed using the pT7T3D-Pac vector with a modified polylinker, and providing ampicillin resistance. The host used in construction was E. coli DH10B. From these libraries, 40,000 unique clones have been selected and arrayed into the Rat Non-redundant Collection. This collection has been sequence verified by the University of Iowa.

To find a clone of interest search our clone query using the UI Identifier as the source ID or the GenBank Accession Number.

Shipping Information:
Individual clones:
Clones are provided as ready-to-use live cultures in 2ml tubes. Each tube contains LB medium supplemented with 8% glycerol and the appropriate antibiotic. Within 4-6 days of receiving your order, we will ship the clones at room temperature via express delivery. Store the stock clones at -80°C.

Clone Collections:
Orders of 50 clones or greater are provided in 96-well microtiter plates. These ship on dry-ice via express delivery and should be stored at -80°C immediately upon receipt. Please contact our technical service department for a quote and estimated shipping time on bulk orders.
