Cancer Genes focused sub-libraries
targeting only cancer-related genes

The shRNA sub-libraries targeting cancer related genes have been created based on published gene lists centered around the National Cancer Institutes Center for Bioinformatic’s (NCICB) Cancer Gene Data Curation Project.  These published and curated lists include findings from multiple bioinformatic studies.

  • National Cancer Institute Center for Bioinformatics’ (NCICB) Cancer Gene Data Curation Project produced a list of 4453 genes from their four phase project
  • The Breast Cancer 1000 list was designed and functionally validated by Dr. Joshua LaBaer, director of Harvard Institute of Proteomics
  • Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Cancer 1000 list was developed by Dr. Greg Hannon
  • A Colorectal meta-analysis of 25 independent gene profiling studies resulted in a list of 127 genes that were common to multiple studies
  • The Computational Biology Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) database (Cancer Genes) list which combined many genes from the review literature and pathways implicated in cancer

Cancer shRNA sub-libraries have been created from the pSM2 retroviral library, the pGIPZ lentiviral library and the TRC lentiviral library.
