R&D Scientist II – Cell Engineering

Summary:

The successful candidate for this position will be part of a scientific team responsible for the development of technologies for engineering cell lines. This is a project lead position requiring the ability to design and implement research plans with minimal supervision.

Laboratory work:

Training in cell biology or biochemistry with experience in microscopy is required. Experience in working with viral vectors is strongly preferred. Familiarity with cellular assays is a plus. The ability to learn, design, perform and subsequently train others on new techniques is required.

Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required. This is a leadership position that will have responsibility for promoting the career development for research associates through training, supervision and management.

The position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. Additionally, the position includes supportive roles in interactions with sales, marketing & technical support. Skills in managing scientific collaborations with some supervision are a strong plus.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry or other Life Sciences field required
  • 3+ years proven successful laboratory experience
  • Minimum of 1 publication in peer-reviewed scientific journal
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English required
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, process development and interpersonal skills are required.
