R&D Scientist II – RNAi

Summary

The successful candidate for this position will be part of a scientific team responsible for the development of viral vector based RNAi resources with an emphasis on screening applications. This is a project lead position requiring the ability to design and implement research plans with minimal supervision.

Laboratory Work

Training in molecular biology or cell biology with experience in the culture of mammalian cell lines, transfection and PCR is required. Skills with virus production are a plus. The ability to learn, design, perform and subsequently train others on new techniques is required.

Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required. This is a leadership position that will have responsibility for promoting the career development for research associates through training, supervision and management.

The position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. Additionally, the position includes supportive roles in interactions with sales, marketing & technical support. Skills in managing scientific collaborations with some supervision are a strong plus.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or other Life Sciences field required
• 3+ years proven successful RNAi laboratory experience
• Minimum of 3 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journal
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English required
• Outstanding organizational, planning, process development and interpersonal skills are required.
